I was one of the most celebrated poets from the first half of the 19th century. I wrote a sonnet that contains one of the most famous lines in English literature. My husband, though an author himself, was mostly known for being “the husband of”. IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE 19th CENTURY! It. Was. Awesome. Emily Dickinson wrote me a fan letter in free verse. I never saw it because it wasn’t published until after she died. Also, because I died two decades before she did.
These days, my poetry is passed over for that of my husband in Intro to the Victorian Period classes. FML doesn’t even cut it.
GOOD DAY SIR. I SAID, GOOD DAY.
